Question sur l'article

Flat TRW handlebar with road approval for Yamaha XJR 1300 (1300 XJR) – black steel, ABE included

Paperwork decides whether a handlebar conversion survives the next inspection, and this TRW bar arrives with it: the ABE permits road use on the released types, and where a machine is missing from the list a TÜV report is enclosed for registration. What follows the paperwork is the riding part – a flat bend that places hands lower and further forward, a black steel tube of 22 mm diameter in the standard clamping size, and a surface sealed against the weather. Documented, dimensioned and ready to bolt on.

Approval and technical data side by side

Clamping diameter: 22 mm (7/8 inch)
Inner diameter: 18 mm
Tube wall: 2 mm
Handlebar width: 765 mm
Bend height: 44 mm
Mirror bolts: 15 mm expansion bolts

The bar measured out

Dimension	Value
a (length)	765 mm
b (height)	44 mm
c (inner width)	205 mm
d (outer height)	44 mm
e (depth)	170 mm

Legal certainty and workmanship

ABE included – road-legal use of the released types without extra entry
TÜV report enclosed – covers models that the ABE list does not name
Corrosion protection – triple special coating over the steel tube
Made in Germany – traceable manufacturing quality behind the approval

Hands lower, front wheel closer

With the flat bar the shoulders come forward and the weight distribution shifts slightly towards the front wheel – noticeable as more feedback when leaning in and as calmer behaviour under braking. On the Yamaha XJR 1300 that suits a sporty, classic-naked posture, whether on Sunday rides or on longer tours where the wind takes part of the upper-body weight. Bar-end mirrors fit into the open tube ends and complete the flat cockpit.

What happens if a model is not on the ABE list?

In that case the enclosed TÜV report is used: it documents the bar for individual registration, so an unlisted machine can still be converted legally. For all types named in the ABE list, road approval applies directly and no further entry is required.
