TRW flat handlebar for Honda SLR 650 (650 SLR) – black steel bar with ABE for town and gravel

Short trips across town, an unpaved shortcut to the start of a trail, a long stretch of tarmac on the way home: the Honda SLR 650 lives on exactly that mixture, and the handlebar carries the load in each of those situations. This black TRW steel bar in flat shape replaces a bent or worn standard bar, uses the common clamping diameter of 22 mm and includes ABE for use on public roads.

What the specification means in practice

Diameter at the clamping area: 22 mm (7/8 inch)
Inner diameter of the tube: 18 mm
Wall thickness: 2 mm
Total width: 765 mm
Bend height: 44 mm
Bar-end mirrors mount with 15 mm expansion bolts

Tube geometry in figures

Dimension	Value
a (length)	765 mm
b (height)	44 mm
c (inner width)	205 mm
d (outer height)	44 mm
e (depth)	170 mm

Reasons riders choose this bar

ABE part of the delivery – legal on the road without extra registration
Triple special coating – resists mud, moisture and road salt
Wide type coverage – works with a large number of standard clamps
Made in Germany – production tolerances kept tight batch after batch

How much effort does the conversion take?

An afternoon in the garage is usually enough: the standard bar is released from the clamps, grips, switch housings and lever fittings move across to the new tube, and everything is aligned and torqued down again. Because the clamping diameter of 22 mm matches the original, no adapters, shims or new risers are required. The decisive step is the check at full steering lock in both directions, where throttle cable, clutch cable and brake line have to stay free of tension.

Approved types and documents

The bar carries ABE for this model and is therefore permitted on public roads without further formalities. The ABE list included in the package names all approved types, and a TÜV report accompanies the delivery for models that are not listed, so registration remains possible in those cases as well.

What the package contains
