TRW flat handlebar for Honda CX 500 (500 CX) – black steel bar with ABE, 22 mm tube, Made in Germany

The vehicle comes first: this TRW flat bar is released for the Honda CX 500 and its 22 mm steel tube slides into the standard clamp of the model. Because width and bend stay within the approved range, throttle cables, clutch cable and brake line keep enough slack at full steering lock. Grips, levers and switch units move over from the old handlebar, so a tired or dented original can be replaced in a single workshop session.

Which figures define the flat bar?

Diameter outside: 22 mm (7/8 inch)
Diameter inside: 18 mm
Tube wall: 2 mm
Total width: 765 mm
Height of the bar: 44 mm
Bar ends for mirrors with 15 mm expansion bolts

How is the bend measured?

Dimension	Value
a (length)	765 mm
b (height)	44 mm
c (inner width)	205 mm
d (outer height)	44 mm
e (depth)	170 mm

Which details show the manufacturing quality?

Made in Germany – bending and finishing under one German production standard
Triple special coating – corrosion protection that also survives frequent polishing
ABE enclosed – road use covered, listed types need no additional registration
Broad model list – the geometry is released for a wide range of vehicles

What does the swap change in daily riding?

The flat 44 mm shape brings the hands down and the shoulders slightly forward, which loads the front wheel and sharpens the response to steering input. On a torquey twin this makes town riding more precise, while the wide grip position keeps slow manoeuvres relaxed. The black surface fits both an original-look restoration and a darker custom build, especially when bar-end mirrors replace the standard stalk mirrors.

Does the handlebar carry ABE for the Honda CX 500?

Yes – the general operating permit shipped with the bar covers the CX 500 for road use. Should the exact type variant be absent from the enclosed ABE list, an added TÜV report provides the basis for an entry at a testing centre. Both documents arrive on paper, and storing them with the registration papers keeps the conversion easy to prove.

What comes in the box?

1x TRW flat handlebar, black, with 22 mm steel tube
1x ABE document in paper form
1x TÜV report for unlisted type variants (paper form)
