On the Ducati Monster 1000 i.e. this TRW flat bar takes the place of the stock handlebar without further adaptation: the steel tube measures 22 mm in diameter and therefore sits in the series clamp as well as in common risers. Switchgear, grips and levers move over to the new tube unchanged. The black finish comes from a triple special coating that protects the steel exactly where moisture collects - at the clamping area and at the open bar ends. Because an ABE type approval is enclosed, the conversion stays road legal without an entry in the vehicle documents.

How does the flat bar change the cockpit?

The hands move closer to the triple clamp and the upper body leans a little further forward, which lets the front wheel report back more directly when turning in. The knee angle stays untouched, so only the arm position changes. As the bar keeps to the stock width, cables and brake lines normally reach without extension. Together with bar-end mirrors the Monster cockpit looks tidy and the instruments stay in full view.
