Titanium Exhaust Header for KTM Duke 790 / 890 (2020–2023)

Performance-Oriented Titanium Header for Parallel Twin Engines

This titanium exhaust header is designed for the KTM Duke 790 and KTM Duke 890, model years 2020 to 2023. As a primary component of the exhaust system, the header directs exhaust gases directly from the cylinder into the downstream exhaust assembly. Its geometry and material selection significantly influence exhaust flow behavior, throttle response and overall torque delivery.

High-torque parallel twin engines such as those used in the Duke 790 and 890 rely on efficient exhaust gas evacuation to maintain smooth power development. If the engine feels restricted at higher RPM or responds less precisely under load, exhaust routing can be a contributing factor. A titanium header with optimized pipe layout supports reduced internal flow resistance and promotes a more consistent exhaust gas transition throughout the rev range.

Technical Features and Material Advantages

Lightweight Titanium Construction

Material: Titanium
Component type: Exhaust header
Application: Road use, touring and sporty riding
Weight advantage: Lower mass compared to conventional steel headers

Titanium is widely used in performance motorcycle engineering due to its excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Reducing weight in the exhaust area can positively influence overall motorcycle balance and handling. Especially during dynamic riding and rapid direction changes, lower mass in the lower chassis area contributes to improved responsiveness.

Thermal Stability and Corrosion Resistance

Modern twin-cylinder engines generate high exhaust temperatures under acceleration and sustained load. Titanium offers high thermal resistance and maintains structural stability even under continuous heat exposure. In addition, it provides strong resistance against corrosion caused by moisture, road debris and environmental factors.

As the front section of the exhaust system, the header is continuously exposed to vibration and dynamic forces. The mechanical properties of titanium support long-term durability under both daily riding and performance-oriented use.

Compatible Models and Model Years

Manufacturer	Model	Model Year
KTM	Duke 790	2020–2023
KTM	Duke 890	2020–2023

The header geometry corresponds to the original engine and frame architecture of these model generations, supporting accurate integration into the existing exhaust system.

Functional Advantages in Real-World Riding

Optimized Exhaust Flow Characteristics

A flow-optimized pipe design can help reduce pressure losses within the exhaust system. This supports cleaner engine revving and more consistent power delivery across the RPM range.

Weight Reduction in the Exhaust Area

Lightweight titanium construction for reduced system mass
High temperature resistance for demanding riding conditions
Corrosion-resistant material for long-term durability
Designed for KTM Duke 790 and 890 (2020–2023)
