This drag harrow with chain mesh or mesh net is designed for surface-level soil cultivation, levelling and maintenance of different types of ground. The harrow has an overall length of approx. 243.5 cm, while the actual mesh section measures approx. 153 cm in length and 126.5 cm in width. The front tube measures approx. 6 cm. The drag harrow can be used behind suitable ATVs, UTVs and lawn tractors equipped with an appropriate towing connection.
The terms chain mesh and mesh net describe the same flexible working surface on this product. The mesh is pulled across the ground behind the towing vehicle and follows smaller surface irregularities. With a mesh size of approx. 5 x 5.5 cm, the harrow is particularly suitable for finer work where loose material needs to be distributed, smaller uneven areas need to be levelled or previously worked ground needs a finishing pass.
Fine Surface Cultivation with Flexible Chain Mesh
The flexible chain mesh / mesh net forms the actual working surface of the drag harrow. Unlike rigid harrows with deep-engaging tines, this mesh works mainly on the surface. It follows the shape of the ground and spreads loose soil, smaller clods and lightly displaced material across the area.
With a mesh length of approx. 153 cm and a width of approx. 126.5 cm, the harrow provides a large flexible working area. Large Working Area for Even Ground Maintenance
The mesh working area measures approx. 153 x 126.5 cm. This allows a relatively wide strip of ground to be treated with each pass. The flexible mesh adapts to smaller irregularities and drags loose material over shallow depressions and minor raised areas.
The overall length of approx. 243.5 cm includes both the mesh section and the front towing area. This creates sufficient distance between the towing vehicle and the working section so that the mesh can be pulled evenly across the ground.
Front Tube with Approx. 6 cm Size
A tube measuring approx. 6 cm is positioned at the front of the drag harrow. It forms a solid leading section and helps guide the mesh evenly while the harrow is being pulled.
The tube also helps keep the chain mesh spread across its approx. 126.5 cm width, supporting more consistent contact between the working section and the ground.
For Finishing Work and Ground Levelling
The drag harrow with chain mesh or mesh net is not intended for aggressive deep soil cultivation. Its main strength is finer work at the ground surface. If the soil has previously been worked with a plough, cultivator, rotary tiller or another more aggressive implement, the mesh can be used afterwards for finishing work.
The mesh helps distribute loose soil and reduce smaller raised or sunken areas. A more even surface can be particularly useful before further work such as seeding or general ground maintenance.

Depending on the condition of the ground and the desired result, several passes may be useful. Working the area from different directions can often help distribute loose material more evenly.
Meadow Maintenance with Flexible Mesh
On meadows, the harrow can be used to spread smaller soil mounds and other loose surface material. Depending on ground conditions, light molehills can also be flattened and distributed by pulling the mesh net across them.
Because the chain mesh is flexible, it follows the ground surface and works less deeply than a rigid tine harrow. This makes it particularly suitable for regular maintenance where the aim is to smooth the surface and redistribute loose material.

Ground Conditions Influence the Working Result
The final result depends strongly on the condition of the ground. On loose and relatively dry soil, the chain mesh / mesh net can distribute loose material effectively. Very wet, clay-heavy or strongly compacted ground may require coarser soil treatment first.
Driving speed and the number of passes also influence the result. For finer work, a controlled speed is recommended so that the mesh maintains sufficient contact with the ground and distributes material as evenly as possible.
