Chain Kit 530 x 88 for Honda CB 750 SC with sprocket 18Z and rear sprocket 43Z

This complete drive set has been specially assembled for the Honda CB 750 SC (model years 1982-1983). It comprises a reinforced X-Ring gold chain motorcycle chain in size 530 x 88 links, a sprocket with 18 teeth and a rear sprocket with 43 teeth. The tooth counts match the original factory gearing – the motorcycle retains its original torque and acceleration characteristics.

If you notice increasing chain play, uneven chain run or clearly grooved tooth profiles on your motorcycle, chain, sprocket and rear sprocket are usually affected together. Replacing all three components at the same time prevents already worn sprockets from wearing down a new chain and shortening its life.

Technical specifications of the drive set

The set is matched to the original factory gearing of your motorcycle. If you would like to change the gearing ratio, calculate the required chain length and the new tooth count before purchase.

Chain: Götz, reinforced, X-Ring, 530 x 88 links, gold color
Sprocket: Esjot, 18 teeth, chromium-molybdenum steel, hardened
Rear sprocket: Esjot, 43 teeth, surface-treated
Chain size: 530 (5/8" × 3/8")
Chain tensile strength: approx. 33,000 N / 3,300 kg
Gearing ratio: 2.39
Connectors: rivet link and clip link included

Why replace chain, sprocket and rear sprocket together

A common question is: "Do I have to replace sprocket and rear sprocket when changing the chain?" On a motorcycle chain with high mileage, the tooth profiles of the sprocket and rear sprocket are usually already worn. If only the chain or only one sprocket is replaced, the old tooth flanks act like a grinding tool on the new rollers and pins. The result is uneven wear, uneven chain run and a significantly shorter service life. A complete drive set prevents these effects because all three components are newly matched to each other.

Reinforced X-Ring gold chain 530 x 88

The chain is manufactured as a reinforced design with X-Ring seal. It is designed for high drive torque and changing load conditions. The gold surface finish additionally protects against corrosion and visually enhances the motorcycle.

Sprocket with 18 teeth made of hardened steel

The sprocket is made of chromium-molybdenum steel and case-hardened. The tooth count of 18 corresponds to the original design of the Honda CB 750 SC. The precise tooth flank contour ensures clean engagement in the chain rollers and reduces friction losses in the drive.

Rear sprocket with 43 teeth and long service life

The rear sprocket has 43 teeth and is matched to the factory gearing of the Honda CB 750 SC. The tooth profiles are precisely stamped and surface-treated to keep wear and operating noise low.

Notes on factory gearing

This chain kit is matched to the factory gearing 18 / 43. If the secondary transmission ratio is changed by different sprocket or rear sprocket tooth counts, the required chain length can vary by one to three links.
